Tillandsia Ionantha is a beautiful air plant and a great starter plant for beginners.
They come in an adorable round shape with silvery green leaves. The blooms are deep violet, almost blue flower, and the leaves will turn a brilliant red.
Ionantha like to be misted 2-3 times per week, more often if they are in a desert-like environment. They grow in the branches of trees and get all their water and nutrients from the rainwater in rain forests like Costa Rica.
They will thrive in indirect sunlight or even fluorescent lighting, making them ideal for your desk at the office. Ideal temperatures are 60 - 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
I do not recommend city water. Use distilled water or collected rainwater is even better!
