Painted with automotive paint that does not fade and peel like many others...Seriously, this is a great deal and an amazing spinner! The blades run in two different directions quite slowly and peacefully. I do not recommend keeping out over the winter months you can, just make sure there is no water left in the bottom of the stake. The freezing of the water makes the seam fail. This spinner can take strong winds. (Over 60mph) We test these at our store. They are outside all summer long.
